We want to thank all of the bands who participated in our Backyard Rockfest. It was our first outdoor event and we had lots of positive feedback. We had about 250 people which we consider a great turnout for a first time event with limited publicity. We would also like to thank all of the sponsors including the bands, the auto dealerships, Big Guns BBQ, and all those listed on the flier above.

Wailin' Wolves and Morgan Smith Tore Down The House
An incredible live performance to an almost full house was a huge success. Morgan's vocals were outstanding, bluesy, and right on key every time. Coupled with Shaw's earthy blues vocals and wailin' harp our front line up was superb. Backed by Phil's rhythmic guitar and Bert's screamin' leads, Curtis's thumpin' bass and Sean's extraordinary driving drums, the band's performance was outstanding.

Also last night we featured the Harbor Blue Band with special guest stars, THE HOT TAMALES. An incredible night of rockin' acoustic music, soulful pickin' and great harmonies. Their vocals are by far one of the best around. Unfortunately the bad weather held a lot of fans back but they will be coming back and always have an impressive list of guest stars appearing to break up their show.

Great Night of Music and Food
Well another successful night of great music, partying and food took place last night at Big Guns BBQ. Harbor Blue Band hosted a wonderful evening of live music and entertainment with their four piece band including acoustic guitars, bass guitar, keyboards, and drums.
We also had some great jams with Big Guns Bert joining in for a set with some driving leads and rhythms joined in midway by Jimmy Wells of the Pure Platinum band on keyboard adding his unique style and killer leads., Then we had a special treat with Lisa Watson ( Wells ) and her incredible vocals on Stormy Monday that tore the house down. Applause was overwhelming.
To break up the evening nicely in between sets the band featured Justin Keyes from the Justin Keyes Experiment playing some original and alternative songs with his unique vocal accompaniments.

News about the Family of BIG GUNS BBQ, Inc.
Big Guns BBQ was conceived by Bert, Judy, and Kristy Calderon, a local family with numerous years of experience in the food industry. We now have three generations of food service expertise.
Having recently moved to the S. Georgia area, relocating from S. Florida, the family decided to open a long time dream of a family oriented restaurant combining live music and fresh smoked BBQ.
Bert has worked in every aspect of the food industry from fast food to high end dining and from wholesale distribution to franchise concepts and manufacturing. His wife Judy has had over 15 years experience in serving, cooking, and restaurant mgmt. Kristy, who was brought up around the restaurant business has front and back end experience plus a number of years as an accounting professional.
Bert has also been an amateur and professional musician since 1966, having opened up for famous bands such as The Young Rascals, The Blues Project, and The Butterfield Blues Band. He has played with a number of stars as an opening act plus played motion picture rap parties with Jeff Conaway, Joe Walsh, Robert Cray, Etta James, and BB King, and Randall “Big Daddy Blues” Webster.
He has also been a regional supervisor for such chains as Lum’s Restaurants, Black Angus Restaurants, Hollywood Café, and opened up a number of Vienna Beef Chicago Style Hot Dog Restaurants. Additionally he has a vast experience in special event catering, such as the Tamiami Youth Fair, Bahia Mar Boat Show and Motion Picture Catering, having catered movies such as Police Academy, Midnight Crossing, Miami Vice, Grease, Planes, Trains, and Autos, etc.
The family, realizing what a sacrifice the restaurant industry can be, decided that the rewards outweigh the sacrifice. At Big Guns BBQ we emphasize that our customer is always our number one priority. We aim to please and spend hours each day smoking our meats slowly with hickory and oak hardwoods to give that Big Guns flavor we are quickly becoming known for. Our menu has a wide variety of smoked and open pit BBQ Pork, Ribs, Chicken, Brisket, Seafood and more plus we offer a FREE 35 item salad bar with any Lunch or Dinner entrée.
Offering a superb value, top quality product, unique recipes, some bodacious BBQ, and awesome desserts, is our surefire recipe for success. Happy New Year To All our Friends!
We wish you all had a great New Years Eve that was fun and exciting. We had a terrific show featuring Big Daddy and the Wailin' Wolves Band w/ Big Guns Bert. the band was rockin' out with many favorite tunes and Big Daddy performed to his best breaking in the New Year with the song Midnight Hour and his blues version of Auld Lang Zine.
A great variety of Blues, Funk and Rock was offered throughout the night and we broke in the New Year with an Official Big Guns Countdown and a champagne toast for all. Sean's drumming was phenomenal, Curtis' thumpin' bass was solid and together with Sean's drums laid a perfect foundation. Neil and Bert trading licks on the guitars all night and pounded out some great rhythms. Shaws harmonica was wailin' all night with exciting leads and backgrounds. Our feature artist Randall "Big Daddy Blues" Webster was incredible with unique arrangements, Funk / blues rhythms, awesome 4 octave vocals and a repertoire to make anyone start clappin' and stompin' their feet.
All in all we had a great night with an intimate crowd that broke in our New Years right. Keep checking our sites to find out about up and coming shows. We have the Wailin' Wolves w/ Morgan Smith and Big Guns Bert coming soon. On the 15th of January we will be featuring the HARBOR BLUE BAND, a unique acoustic / percussion group with great vocals. We are awaiting a final date on the return of the CORPORAL BOIL BANDE, the PURE PLATINUM BAND and the BIG DADDY and RED HOT JAVA BAND.

CORPORAL BOIL BAND TURNS OUT A TERRIFIC SHOW
We would like to share that we had an awesome turnout for the CORPORAL BOIL SHOW, two weeks ago on Friday. This was our best night we have ever had since opened.
The band put on a fantastic show and played til 2:45 am. The crowd was terrific. Tons of beautiful ladies, lots of great dancing, beer was flowing, and the band played everything from originals to classic rock and from blues to reggae. For three guys they do a terrific job and it is no wonder that they have a great following.
