Dear Friends and Customers,

You have all been great friends to me and my family and have done all you can to help us succeed. For your friendship and support I am most grateful. I have tried along with my daughters and wife to make it through all these financially stressed times and have put every dime we had into Big Guns BBQ.

I believe we offered a great product and have a winning formula but unfortunately due to incredible maintenance and repair bills, not enough volume, and lack of capitalization, we have been forced to close our doors this past Sunday night.

It is with deep regret that I have to inform you of this but I have just hit a point where without any financial assistance like an investor, partner, etc., that we cannot continue.

We have a number of items available for sale to try to raise money so we can live until we regroup such as bar neons, mirrors, food products, upright freezer, etc.

I value our friendship greatly.

I don't know how it may be possible to duplicate the ribs, ( and chicken, for that matter) that are served here. The best, I repeat BEST that I have ever tasted. Friendly service, and all the extra's are present too...I wish dearly that there were more places that followed this model. A++++++

The BBQ at Big Guns BBQ Restaurant surpassed my expectations. It was tender and flavorful and had that old fashioned taste. I was pleasantly surprised by the freshest salad bar that to my surprise was free qwith any meal, even sandwiches. The servers are very friendly and make you feel right at home. They have quite a number of menu items to choose from that are all a great value. You can't leave Big Guns hungry.!!

Definitely the best smoked Ribs I've had in a long time. Don't need sauce the ribs are so tender and flavor packed. Definitely my favorite dish. My boyfriend had the pull pork and it was just as good as my ribs. thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Saw a band called Harbor Blue Band and they were excellent. For great BBQ and live music go to BIg Guns BBQ

First impression was a delightful atmosphere. Very friendly staff. The BBQ chicken & ribs were very tasty and melted in your mouth.They have a big variety of food to choose from and at a great price too. And they have live bands that play too. Most excellent. I shall tell all my friends about Big guns BBQ & I shall return more in the future, I am happy they are close by. Thanks for bring traditional smoked flavor back to ribs & chicken.

I passed this restaurant 100 times and thought about stopping in, but today the smell of smoking meat was so overpowering it magnetically drew me in and am I glad. Me and my girl had ribs and pull pork and I must say both were so delicious that we had to order more to take home. Hats off to the best BBQ ever!!

Passed Big Guns BBQ on a regular basis and just never seemed to have the time to drop in but once my family tried it, we became hooked. We have never tasted BBQ this good and the prices are reasonable. Kids under 12 eat free on Tuesdays so this becomes our family night out. So far we have had wings, Pull Pork, and Ribs, and all were out of this world. The flavor is addicting and on many weekends they have live music so Big Guns has become our night out. Give it a try. This gem is worth the drive!

We catered our office party at Big Guns BBQ. It was incredible. We had more than an ample amount of food. The service and variety was the best ever. Our people are still talking about how good the ribs, pull pork and chicken tasted and the red beans and rice are real southern style. I highly recommend Big Guns BBQ for any king of gathering. You won't be let down. Definitely worth the few extra minutes of drive time and they have great live entertainment available too.!~

Due to the insistent rain, we moved Our Rockfest Indoors.Other than a slight delay in the beginning our Rockfest was still a success. We had some great live music opening up with Stone Street and their funky alternative sound. Moving on to an exciting show with the Wailin' Wolves Band playing their blues and rock classics with a powerhouse set featuring Shaw From on harmonica, Big Guns Bert on guitar, Phil the Pill on guitar, Neil Anderson on Bass, and Sean Scott on Drums. Had great crowd pleasing reaction and the Rockfest continues.

Following their dynamic set, the next set featured Wrought Iron Soul with Ace McFherguis on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Bellz Karisa, on lead and backup vocals, Max Gill on amazing lead guitar, David Bush on Thumpin' Bass, Joe Morgan on keys, and Lee Barnes on drums. Their show was dynamic and powerful as always.

Ace MacFhearghuis with his band Wrought Iron Soul put on a phenomenal show tonight at Big Guns BBQ. The vocals were incredible and even though the band sound is very powerful you could hear everything clearly. They mesh together in perfect synchronization. The drums are powerful and strong and totally in sync. Ovation for David and Lee. Ace and Bellz can sing anything without missing a note. Joe on the keys and Max on the lead guitar just add the perfect amount of background and leads to help this band sound as great as they do. If you have the chance to see them, don't miss out. DOWNTHREAT put on an incredible show

Corporal Boil was originally booked for April 2, 2010 and had to cancel at the last minute. To fill that slot as a last minute favor came the DOWNTHREAT band who put on an incredible show. Matt, the lead vocalist and lead guitar player just kept coming up with a great range of vocal talent and shredding lead guitar solos. The drummer, rythmn guitar and bass were synchronized to give DOWNTHREAT a complete, full sound with a great variety of music genres. They are definitely a highly recommended band to please any crowd.

Randall "Big Daddy Blues" Webster performed an exclusive show this Sat evening introducing many of his original songs from his soon to be released new album. Performing a full night of original tunes accompanied by his remarkable blues stories, he created a great atmosphere here at Big Guns BBQ. The audience cheered him on after each song with enthusiastic applause and cheers. It made for a great evening of Smokin' Blues and BBQ, upholding our reputation.

He is currently arranging for up coming European tours and we will miss him and the Red Hot Java Band while they are away spreading the blues word out to the world. Last night he had Big Guns Bert and Tallahassee flutist Barry accompanying many different tunes. Keep your eye out for "Big Daddy" and Big Guns BBQ's achievements and performances.

A Great Night to Remember

Well last night was our Pre Anniversary Party featuring DEAD CONFEDERATE and FUTUREBIRDS. Unfortunately Carson from Corporal Boil had food poisoning and that caused that band to cancel. The show kicked off about 9 pm with FUTUREBIRDS opening up. What a powerful sound and unique melodies. They had a driving intense sound with great vocals.

Then to follow about 10:30 pm the Big Boys (Headliner) DEAD CONFEDERATE, filled the stage, the room, and the whole building with their intense sound and original songs.
This was a great night in Big Guns BBQ music history. To have bands of this caliber play at our venue is an exciting happening and helps us get one more step closer to building our reputation as a great venue for live music and phenomenal smokin' BBQ.

Wailin' Wolves and Morgan Smith Tore Down The House

An incredible live performance to an almost full house was a huge success. Morgan's vocals were outstanding, bluesy, and right on key every time. Coupled with Shaw's earthy blues vocals and wailin' harp our front line up was superb. Backed by Phil's rhythmic guitar and Bert's screamin' leads, Curtis's thumpin' bass and Sean's extraordinary driving drums, the band's performance was outstanding.

Every time they play it gets better and better. The people that missed this show missed a great one, however don't fret. They will be back again at our BACKYARD ROCKFEST on the 20th of Feb and again on March 19th. So keep up with our postings, join our email list for special coupons, and don't miss our next great show. Great Night of Music and Food

Well another successful night of great music, partying and food took place last night at Big Guns BBQ. Harbor Blue Band hosted a wonderful evening of live music and entertainment with their four piece band including acoustic guitars, bass guitar, keyboards, and drums.

We also had some great jams with Big Guns Bert joining in for a set with some driving leads and rhythms joined in midway by Jimmy Wells of the Pure Platinum band on keyboard adding his unique style and killer leads., Then we had a special treat with Lisa Watson ( Wells ) and her incredible vocals on Stormy Monday that tore the house down. Applause was overwhelming.

To break up the evening nicely in between sets the band featured Justin Keyes from the Justin Keyes Experiment playing some original and alternative songs with his unique vocal accompaniments.

News about the Family of BIG GUNS BBQ, Inc.

Big Guns BBQ was conceived by Bert, Judy, and Kristy Calderon, a local family with numerous years of experience in the food industry. We now have three generations of food service expertise.

Having recently moved to the S. Georgia area, relocating from S. Florida, the family decided to open a long time dream of a family oriented restaurant combining live music and fresh smoked BBQ.

Bert has worked in every aspect of the food industry from fast food to high end dining and from wholesale distribution to franchise concepts and manufacturing. His wife Judy has had over 15 years experience in serving, cooking, and restaurant mgmt. Kristy, who was brought up around the restaurant business has front and back end experience plus a number of years as an accounting professional.

Bert has also been an amateur and professional musician since 1966, having opened up for famous bands such as The Young Rascals, The Blues Project, and The Butterfield Blues Band. He has played with a number of stars as an opening act plus played motion picture rap parties with Jeff Conaway, Joe Walsh, Robert Cray, Etta James, and BB King, and Randall “Big Daddy Blues” Webster.

He has also been a regional supervisor for such chains as Lum’s Restaurants, Black Angus Restaurants, Hollywood Café, and opened up a number of Vienna Beef Chicago Style Hot Dog Restaurants. Additionally he has a vast experience in special event catering, such as the Tamiami Youth Fair, Bahia Mar Boat Show and Motion Picture Catering, having catered movies such as Police Academy, Midnight Crossing, Miami Vice, Grease, Planes, Trains, and Autos, etc.

The family, realizing what a sacrifice the restaurant industry can be, decided that the rewards outweigh the sacrifice. At Big Guns BBQ we emphasize that our customer is always our number one priority. We aim to please and spend hours each day smoking our meats slowly with hickory and oak hardwoods to give that Big Guns flavor we are quickly becoming known for. We wish you all had a great New Years Eve that was fun and exciting. We had a terrific show featuring Big Daddy and the Wailin' Wolves Band w/ Big Guns Bert. the band was rockin' out with many favorite tunes and Big Daddy performed to his best breaking in the New Year with the song Midnight Hour and his blues version of Auld Lang Zine.

A great variety of Blues, Funk and Rock was offered throughout the night and we broke in the New Year with an Official Big Guns Countdown and a champagne toast for all. Sean's drumming was phenomenal, Curtis' thumpin' bass was solid and together with Sean's drums laid a perfect foundation. Neil and Bert trading licks on the guitars all night and pounded out some great rhythms. Shaws harmonica was wailin' all night with exciting leads and backgrounds. Our feature artist Randall "Big Daddy Blues" Webster was incredible with unique arrangements, Funk / blues rhythms, awesome 4 octave vocals and a repertoire to make anyone start clappin' and stompin' their feet.

All in all we had a great night with an intimate crowd that broke in our New Years right. Keep checking our sites to find out about up and coming shows. We have the Wailin' Wolves w/ Morgan Smith and Big Guns Bert coming soon. On the 15th of January we will be featuring the HARBOR BLUE BAND, a unique acoustic / percussion group with great vocals. We are awaiting a final date on the return of the CORPORAL BOIL BANDE, the PURE PLATINUM BAND and the BIG DADDY and RED HOT JAVA BAND.

CORPORAL BOIL BAND TURNS OUT A TERRIFIC SHOW

We would like to share that we had an awesome turnout for the CORPORAL BOIL SHOW, two weeks ago on Friday. This was our best night we have ever had since opened.

The band put on a fantastic show and played til 2:45 am. The crowd was terrific. Tons of beautiful ladies, lots of great dancing, beer was flowing, and the band played everything from originals to classic rock and from blues to reggae. For three guys they do a terrific job and it is no wonder that they have a great following.
